ATTENBOROUGH CRICKET CLUB
FEBRUARY 2010 NEWS
LETTER
I hope you are all well and as eager for the start of the new cricket season as I am.
2010 at Attenborough will be a
great year for the club. Junior membership is at an all time high with more cricketing opportunities for all age groups, the adult
first team start their second season at the pinnacle of amateur cricket in Nottingham - the Premier League and our third and
fourth teams both got promoted.
Winter Training
Our hugely popular
winter indoor training sessions continue on Friday evenings at Bramcote Hills College sports barn. The turn out has been greater
than ever and all cricketers have been a pleasure to coach, many thanks to all age groups for their hard work.
We
have places still for any year 9 or 10 cricketers who wish to join us at our 8.00-9.30pm session, any parents interested should
contact David Taylor for further details.
The final session will be Friday 23rd April prior to the start of
outdoor training.
CF Sports
This is the second year that CF Sports have supplied Attenborough with their selection of clothing and cricket equipment.
On Tuesday March 16th at 6.00pm Charlie French from CF Sports will be coming down to the ground with a selection of clothing and
equipment to buy or to order before the start of the season. He will also be demonstrating how to make a cricket bat.
So put
this date on your calendar
Registration Evening
Registration
evening will be on Monday 26th April commencing at 6pm at the Strand.
The junior membership fee for 2010 will be
£30.
Parents who receive income support, income-based jobseekers allowance, working tax credit (but not child tax
credit) or disabled persons tax credit may contact David Taylor or Richard Henson in confidence to discuss financial
assistance.
Please be aware that no junior will be allowed to take part in either training or matches without a
completed registration form, as we must have full details of medical requirements and emergency contacts. I am sure you will all
support us with this.
Player profile forms will be sent out in March. We urge all parents / guardians to
complete this electronically and print off a signed copy to bring with them on the evening. This will help us to greatly speed up
the process. Please ensure you include a current email address or you will miss out on all the future news and updates from the
club. Cash is accepted and cheques should be made payable to Attenborough Cricket Club.
There will be full bar
facilities and our catering team will be lighting the first BBQ of the season so don’t have any tea. The junior cricketers will be
entertained by our coaches throughout the process with fun and games and I hope many of you will make an evening of it.

Social and
Fundraising
2010 is the second year we have a dedicated junior social / fundraising section ably
headed by Bernadette Ahluwalia and her team of helpers. We are already planning several junior section events throughout the year.
Watch out for the her news letters
And finally
Attenborough Youth
pride themselves on their junior members and the way they behave both at training and during matches against other clubs. We
strongly encourage our junior members to wear cricket clothing whilst training and representing Attenborough CC and we hope
parents will support us on this. It must also be noted that youth players must be in possession of a protective guard (box)
whilst playing hardball in both the nets and matches.
Yours sincerely
