Junior Fundraising Newsletter
For the first time this year we have formed a ‘Junior Fundraising & Social
Committee’ to enable us to create some essential funds taking the youth section from strength to strength and having fun doing
so. Over the season we are planning a
number of events that shall hopefully encourage and motivate our juniors to improve their game, and create a renewed sense of team
spirit.
Our season kicks off with the initial registration evening on Friday 24th April
starting at 6pm where there shall be cricket themed games, tombola, raffle, BBQ , tuck shop and of course the pavilion bar. Bring along grandma, grandad, aunty and uncle and start the season in
style.
Our new kit provider CF Sports will have a stand with junior kit available to view or buy on
the night, remember the club generates valuable income from each item purchased.
Other events planned are a race night with a twist – the juniors do the racing!, a
Kwik-Cricket World Cup evening, a traditional family fun day followed by the presentation evening at the end the season. Dates are posted on the club website and precise details will follow in our next
newsletter.
Attenborough CC junior section is now registered with Tesco for their vouchers for schools and
clubs initiative. This will hopefully provide another opportunity to generate new kit
for the juniors. I will set up a collection box in the pavilion but in the meantime please pass on any vouchers to your team
manager at training night. There will be a special prize for the junior who collects the most
vouchers!
At both training evenings this year we shall be making the most of the catering facilities by
providing our traditional chip cobs on both occasions. We would be grateful for any
volunteers to help for part of the session in preparing and serving the food. We also
hope to provide improved catering on match days. Attenborough CC already has a fine reputation for its facilities that are
available to visiting teams, so if we can maintain this our status will continue.
To sum up we are looking for help with:
· Donations of chocolate for the tombola (this can be brought to any training
evening)
· Raffle donations
· Help with catering on practise/match days
· Help with further fund raising events
We are well aware of how busy parents are with juggling work and home lives, so we would be
grateful for any help you can provide in whatever form. If anyone has any ideas/tips for future fundraising then please do contact
me or your team manager.
